Emma Wilson, Kip McGrath Centre Director, came to Queenstown in 2011 on what was supposed to be a 5-month holiday. Having taught in a variety of primary UK classrooms for over 20 years, she is now loving the chance to focus on what's most important. "We teach children, not a curriculum here at Kip. We design each child's learning to work towards curriculum targets, starting from right where they are. And I think that's the best job in the world!" Emma was a Deputy Head, and a Special Needs Co-ordinator, as well as starting her own music teaching business, and is now putting all those skills (and a few more besides) into running Kip McGrath Wakatipu.
It was very sad to lose her brother Martin Wightman in August 2017, at the young age of just 46. Martin had run the Centre for 6 years, and was building up a great sideline in operating Queenstown Robotics and mentoring the RoboStormer Lego team.

The Queenstown Kip McGrath Centre's tutors are an exceptional team who provide caring support to all students - from those needing extra maths tutoring to students wanting to push themselves further with our Extension programmes. All of the centre's tutors are handpicked and fully qualified. Our teachers are from varied teaching backgrounds and offer a wealth of experience within literacy and numeracy at primary, secondary and tertiary level.

Lucy Geraghty began working as Kip McGrath Centre Manager in January 2018. A great addition to the team, we are delighted to have her with us!
